PERSEPHONE BOOKS

Whilst reading many on-line blogs, I have noticed a few that mention collecting Persephone books - but can't remember who they are.
I happen to have 20+ Persephone books, in the silver grey covers and coloured end-papers which I'm now ready to part with, but it doesn't feel right to just hand them over to a charity shop.
I'm hoping that those blog-writers might also read 'Rosie's Ramblings' and be interested in taking them off my hands - no charge, except for the cost of posting them.
If you are interested, please comment below and I can supply details of titles and authors.
Happy reading!

  1. I would be very interested in these books and would give them a very good home! I do not have my own blog but I hope I am still in with a chance.

  2. Mrs M, you are definitely 'in with a chance'. To be fair, I'll give it a week so that everyone has chance to comment and state their interest, then see how many takers there are. At that stage i can put all the titles/authors on here and then it's share-out time! I am currently re-reading "William - an Englishman" . . . note to self . . . do not get the urge to read them all again!!!!

  5. I've been lucky and found 3 from charity shops in the last few months which brings my collection up to about 20 so a long way to go as they have printed over 100 now!
Would willingly pay postage and for the books if you have some that I would like and as long as no-one else bags them first!

  6. All who show an interest will have an equal chance when I distribute them. I'm now trying to think of the best way of seeing who wants which titles . . . Any ideas????

  8. Hi Rosie, As you have made a very generous offer, why not make it easy on yourself and just randomly choose however many books per person and then everyone who gets them will be surprised. I imagine that everyone would be grateful to receive any of the books as Persephone rarely publishes a dud!. Btw, happy to pay the postage.

    1. Thank you, Mrs M - that makes sense, so I shall do that. All mine were published between 1999 and 2001 so at least if you already have some Persephone books you can decide if you might have any or if you're still interested.

    2. So . . . the books will be divided between the five of you who have indicated an interest. In order to contact me with your names and addresses, please would you use this email address which will be removed once you've all finished with it. rosiellawnroc@gmail.com Once I have all 5 addresses, I shall pack the books and get them sent out (hopefully I will be given the go-ahead to drive again on Monday when I see my consultant) Fingers crossed!
