A-Splishing and A-Sploshing!

What to do on a lovely, sunny day? Spend time in the garden, of course, complete with coffee and a book. Or forget the book and enjoy the antics of these sparrows in the bird bath.

Aren't they a delight to watch?

    1. I didn't get much reading done, Mary. It was a privelege to be so close to them and I loved the various ways they took their baths - my favourite was photo number 4 - that's the way to enjoy life!

  2. Sparrows are such delightful cheeky little creatures and so amusing to watch. It certainly looked like these were having a good time in your bird bath :)

    1. They are regular visitors, congregating in the hedge and chattering while they sort out who can go next. It's a full-time job, keeping the water fresh and the bird bath full. Later, when it was quiet and the sparrows had flown away, I saw from the kitchen window that a lone bullfinch was having a leisurely bath all on his own. That's the first time I've seen anything other than sparrows using it to bathe, though others do come for a quick drink.

  4. I've been looking for another one, bigger but with a dragonfly on it. No luck so far.
