Sunshine brings out the best in everyone after lots of rain and bitterly cold winds, even the early blooms in the garden.
Short-stemmed flowers are essential in a windy garden and I love these unusual Tulips
One of Caspar's favourite sun-bathing spots - a chair in the south-facing study.
"Who?" "What?" "WHY?"
Our Cornish lanes are so beautiful again.
Yesterday I drove down to St Austell to spend time with a dear friend - and to meet her new Pomeranian puppy.
So meet Sherri . . .
She is 9 months old, with a long pedigree and a very beautiful girl with her Red Sable colouring. She has only been with Valerie for 6 days but has settled extremely well; it's as though she has always been there.
After spending time playing with Sherri and her toys I am even more eager to have my very own dog. I'm dog-broody!
A very pretty little dog, but I am glad we have our little Nell with shorter hair to brush.. beautiful photos again of Cornwall.
ReplyDeleteYes spring has sprung.
Thank you for the comments on my blog, we seem to be on the downward road to moving, at long last!

DeleteYes, Sherri will need lots of brushing, but Val is used to that because of her previous Pomeranian. She is confined to a wheelchair with Multiple Sclerosis, so she sits her dog in her lap while she brushes away to her heart's content. Another friend is always ready to take Sherri to the groomers whenever she needs trimming or whatever, also to the vet whenever necessary.
DeleteI truly wish you all the best for a quick house sale so that you can at last claim that dream cottage you've been wanting. - Rosemary
What a dear little fluffball!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your header I wondered if Sherri was a new member of your family.
Haven't the daffodils been amazing this year, I don't think they have ever been quite so beautiful.
Little Sherri is adorable - but not for me; I prefer something a bit bigger, one that will happily go on walks on the Moor no matter what the weather, etc. and gallop along the beaches. (I can't imagine Sherri getting mucky, can you?)
DeleteYou're right about the proliferation of Daffodils this year - they seem to have doubled up! A few years ago, I remember we were saying the same thing about all the Primroses; we had a Spring where they absolutely smothered the Cornish hedges and lined all the lanes. - Rosemary x
Some beautiful photography there. No sign of anything growing here yet. I'm very partial to the black kitties.
ReplyDeleteCaspar the black cat belongs to my son and daughter-in-law; he's lodging with me until they move into their new home.
DeleteI'm looking forward to some more sunny days which encouraged the flowers to show themselves; had enough of rain, fog and cold winds!
Those tulips are so pretty, mine haven't come out yet, but won't be long.
ReplyDeleteThat doggie is a cutie.
The tulips are unusual, aren't they? My other tulips are still not in flower yet - maybe after some more sunny days and warmth.
DeleteYour garden and Cornwall is looking wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous little puppy - I'm dog broody, too!
Thanks Veronica - it's definitely Spring around here with lots of flowers to prove it. Sherri is a little smasher, isn't she?
DeleteNot a dog for muddy fields!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and those tulips are so unusual
Sherri is definitely a lapdog - just the right companion for Val, but I need a 'proper' dog to get me back walking every day. The tulips look so different today because there has been no sunshine, only drizzle, they haven't opened like in the photos, so they look more tulip-like, in tight bud.
DeleteLovely photos of the flowers and a very pretty dog. I remember seeing fields of daffs. when in Cornwall this time of year. Can' t beat a black cat for companionship. Hope the sun continues to shine, it has been miserable here today.
ReplyDeleteI love to see the fields of daffs; I used to live in a cottage next to one such field and the owner didn't mind if we picked some for in the house; he didn't employ pickers and was only interested in growing the bulbs and selling them on.
DeleteHow gorgeous those tulips are, and the fields of yellow. I have a weakness for black cats so Caspar has caught my eye. You would make such a wonderful home for another dog ... it's just a matter of time, isn't it? :)
ReplyDeleteNot long now - my son and daughter-in-law have found their new house and are due to move in next week. Then it's all systems go for finding my new companion dog. So excited!!!
DeleteWonderful!
DeleteThere is nothing more lovely than the beginnings of spring - with a few critters thrown in.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I shall be boring everyone to death with photos galore once I get my next critter!!!
DeleteI just love Spring.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed seeing all of your photographs, beautiful blooms.
I have to add that Sherri takes a great photograph.
Thanks for sharing
All the best Jan
Thank goodness for digital cameras, Jan - I must have taken 30 or more photos in order to find some for the blog. I dread to think how much that would have cost when using rolls of colour film!
DeleteJust to apologise I just deleted your comment by mistake instead of publishing it, (on the bird seed tray post), sorry best wishes Marlene.
ReplyDeleteOh don't worry, Marlene; I was just commenting on your excellent ground-feeder made by your husband. My blackbirds have to make do with a scattering of seed on the lawn or patio.
ReplyDeleteHello!! I'am glad to read the whole content of this blog and am very excited.Thank you.
